Star Trek Online fans will be thrilled to hear both Season 8 and Season 9 of the free-to-play game are planned for release in 2013. According to Executive Producer Dan Stahl, who answered a bunch of player-related questions online this weekend, Season 8 is scheduled for the first half of 2013. There’s no set release date for Season 9 of Star Trek Online, but it is being worked out with a plan to release it in the second half of the year.
Season 8 will see players getting new missions, a brand new storyline, a new adventure zone, more episodes and a completely new, and very ‘big’, feature that will be a very nice surprise.
In between the two seasons releasing, Star Trek Online will also have more updates, more ships and a slew of other extra stuff players can look forward to.
You have to give credit to Cryptic Studios and Perfect World Entertainment as, even though the buzz about Star Trek Online has been less than stellar in the past, these guys have really gone above and beyond releasing awesome game content in a game that’s free-to-play.
